Hunters Point Block 50 | San Francisco, CA

For years, Hunters Point in southeastern San Francisco was defined by a vacated shipyard. Today the neighborhood is transforming rapidly into a thriving residential community, and Lennar Urban Development set out to lead that change with a series of new housing projects. Block 50, at 201 Donahue Street, was among the first of them, an early test of what everyday life in the new Hunters Point could look like.

The challenge was to establish a residential character on land with an industrial past, creating homes that feel rooted and livable from the start. The program called for 25 two- and three-bedroom townhomes in Type VA construction, each with its own attached garage, arranged to give residents private outdoor space while relating to the public realm next door. BDE Architecture worked alongside Lennar to shape this first chapter of the neighborhood's new identity.

The result offers families a place to put down roots. Residents enjoy the area's weather from private decks and balconies or step out to the adjacent public pocket park, sharing in a neighborhood that continues to grow around them.
