1598 Bay Street | San Francisco, CA

San Francisco's Marina District is one of the city's most coveted neighborhoods, a place with a distinctive character and little room for change. At 1598 Bay Street, Presidio Development Partners saw the chance to introduce luxury condominium living to this desirable setting in a way that would feel at home among its neighbors.

The path required care. A 4-story residential condominium development of 28 units had to incorporate the distinctive elements of the neighborhood while fitting below-grade parking, bike storage and a rooftop garden into a compact urban site, using Type IA and VA construction. BDE Architecture served as a collaborative partner on the team, working in collaboration with Seidel Architects, the project's design architect, to carry that vision from concept to completed building.

Finished in 2018, 1598 Bay Street gives its residents a refined address in the heart of the Marina, with parking tucked below grade, secure bike storage and a garden roof terrace that opens to sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The result adds new homes to a cherished neighborhood while respecting the qualities that make it so sought after.
