M Social Hotel | Sunnyvale, CA

In Sunnyvale, close to the 101 Freeway and a short trip from San Jose Mineta International Airport, Millennium Hotels and Resorts sees the opportunity for a landmark hotel. M Social Hotel is being developed in conjunction with Lakeside Apartments, with a public park and lake planned to connect the two projects.

The design sets out to offer travelers a visually striking refuge, and that ambition shapes every move. The massing steps down toward the east to open up views while drawing natural light into the core of the hotel. The first floor must hold a great deal: a restaurant, bar, lounge, pre-function space, multiple meeting rooms, two ballrooms and a commercial kitchen, all tied together by a centrally located courtyard that connects the common areas. Above, 263 keys are organized in Type III A over I A construction. BDE Architecture is partnering with Millennium to resolve this rich program into a single, coherent building.

Once open, M Social Hotel will welcome visitors with a fitness center and outdoor lounge alongside its ground-floor spaces. Linked to its residential neighbor by a shared park and lake, it will serve as a convenient, memorable stop for travelers arriving in Silicon Valley.
